Ricardo Guerreiro was born in Funchal in 1977 but grew up in Almada (across the river from Lisbon), Portugal, where he is currently based. As a freelance photographer he finds his work themes in the natural world and his pictures have been published in books and magazines of the kind, such as National Geographic Portugal. Recently, he authored the book "Almada Nature Uncovered", a photographic journey about urban wildlife, and co-authored the natural history film "Arrábida - da Serra ao Mar" about the natural treasures of the Arrábida mountain range, some 30km south of Lisbon, now under a proposal for classification as UNESCO World Heritage site.
